Safe Lodges

The safe lodges (green dot) scheme is an Oxford University Security Service (OUSS) initiative. Students in distress can go to the nearest lodge - not necessarily their own - and receive help and support.

How does this work?

From the street

Any student in distress can go into any lodge displaying a green dot

At the Lodge

Friendly welcome

Use of a telephone

Place of sanctuary

Support from the porters/lodge staff

Outcomes

The lodge can then call the student's home college, who will then take responsibility.

In serious cases the OUSS or police can be called.
